I don’t really post on here ever any more, but I wanted to break my silence to say that I saw Bon Iver at the Ryman Auditorium (which is my absolute favorite music venue) last night, and it was incredible.
Justin is touring with an eight-piece band, including two drummers, multiple horn/sax players, and more, providing a full-bodied sound. For “Re: Stacks,” however, the band left, and Justin performed the song alone with an acoustic guitar. The dynamic balance it provided from the rest of the concert was a fantastic reorientation—by taking out all the other instruments, you are forced to focus on the intricacy, finesse, and intimacy of the performance.
This is a shot from that. Zoom
